ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, ROBOTS AND SERVICE AUTOMATION IN RESTAURANT BUSINESS: AVAILABILITY OF SCIENTIFIC DATA

Abstract:
Possibility of AI, robots and service automation use in different industries are very popular. But, although this new technology enables many application options in restaurant business, studies in this area are still limited in Serbia and the region. Having in mind that the first step in any scientific research is literature observation, the availability of scientific data plays crucial role in research process. The aim of the present research was to analyze the availability of scientific data regarding application of artificial intelligence, robots and service automation in restaurant business. Methodology for data collection was based on survey several scientific data bases were used. Relevant key words (1) artificial intelligence, restaurant business; 2) AI, restaurant business; 3) robots, restaurant business; 4) service automation, restaurant business; 5) artificial Intelligence, robots, restaurant business; 6) AI, robots, restaurant business; 7) artificial intelligence, service automation, restaurant business; 8) AI, service automation, restaurant business; 9) robots, service automation, restaurant business; 10) artificial intelligence, robots, service automation, restaurant business; 11) AI, robots, service automation, restaurant business) were used. Based on the obtained results we can conclude that the availability of scientific papers depends on selected keywords and database. The databases with highest number of documents are ScienceDirect, JSTOR and Google Scholar, while databases with lowest number of documents are PubMed, ERIC and DOAJ. In the case of using keywords with the same meaning “artificial intelligence” and “AI”, different results are obtained, which indicates the importance of an adequate choice of keywords.
