Abstract:
Corporate sustainability is recognized as a central tendency in the modern hotel operations. Organizational culture determines all company decisions, including those related to environmental awareness, the adoption of sustainable practices and eco-innovation. In this context, the goal of this study is to identify the profile of organizational culture in hotels that adhere to the principles of green economy and corporate sustainability in Montenegro. Using a sample of 260 respondents employed across 15 different companies, we will empirically investigate the typology of organizational culture by employing descriptive statistics. The study utilizes the Competing Values Framework (CVF) matrix, and is based on the OCAI questionnaire, which distinguishes four types of organizational culture: clan, adhocracy, hierarchy and market. The results show that the majority of “green” hotels in Montenegro exhibit an adhocracy organizational culture, which emphasizes entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, as opposed to bureaucratic systems that prioritize hierarchy and rigid processes. The practical contribution of this study refers to generating knowledge and offering guidelines for managers in the tourism industry, particularly in the development of green organizational culture that enhances business performance and promotes sustainable managerial practices.
