Startup entrepreneurship in Serbia is becoming an increasingly significant segment of the country’s economic development, and the rise of students’ entrepreneurial ventures can contribute to this trend. Developing financial support programs, establishing university and college accelerators and spinoffs, as well as revising existing entrepreneurial curricula, can result in a higher number of launched startups that can be commercialized. The aim of this study was to analyze students’ intentions to create startups, as well as their perceptions of the business climate in Serbia. The empirical study was conducted from May to September 2024, based on data from an online questionnaire survey of 127 students from the University of Belgrade across all subject areas and levels of study. The results showed that most students have a positive attitude toward entrepreneurship, but only one-third are ready to start a startup venture. Additionally, there are statistically significant differences between male and female students regarding their intentions to start a business, as well as their awareness of financing options.
