Significant technological advancements in the tourism sector include the widespread use of mobile devices for photography and recording, which allow the storage of geographic location data associated with specific files. This opens entirely new possibilities for using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Data collected in this way can be utilized for strategic and operational sustainable tourism development, as well as for planning and executing tourist trips. Digital applications for mapping tourist attractions and sitesenable users to navigate more easily and personalize their travel experiences. This paper focuses on the development, functionality, and application of digital innovations and maps in the tourism industry, with a particular emphasis on the InnoVET application. This app integrates various types of data, including geolocation information, accessibility for people with disabilities, photographs, user reviews, and diversere commendations based on crowdsourcing. The study also explores the advantages that digital applications offer both tourists and professional education in tourism and hospitality, such as improved real-time information accessibility, interactivity, and customization to individual needs. Additionally, it examines challenges such as user privacy, incident reporting at locations, and the high precision of data.
